The Taylor Society
The Taylor Society recognizes and celebrates the generous alumnae/i, families and friends who have made a commitment to Bryn Mawr College through a planned gift.
Bryn Mawr College was founded with a planned gift. In 1878, Joseph Wright Taylor, M.D. purchased over 40 acres at the corner of Yarrow and Roberts Road. Soon after he gave instructions to noted Philadelphia architect Addison Hutton and ground was broken for the College’s first building, Taylor Hall. Although Dr. Taylor never saw the opening of the College in 1885, his bequest made the founding of Bryn Mawr possible, thus commencing a long tradition of philanthropy supporting academic excellence.
Members of the Taylor Society continue this essential Bryn Mawr tradition of giving to the next generations of outstanding students through either a bequest, trust, gift annuity, or other planned gift.
If you have already named Bryn Mawr College as a beneficiary in your will, IRA, 401(k), 403(b), Donor-Advised Fund or other gift, you can join the loyal community of Taylor Society members by contacting the Office of Gift Planning or sending a completed confidential Bequest Intention Form.
